Screenwriter and Director Rio Collier of the B Media Collective seen here in 2011 after she received the SURGE 'Eternal Flame' award for keeping the flame of equality and social justice burning bright for all the world to see. She received the award for her inspiring film 'Armed with Art: A New Revolution is Necessary - "Armad@s Con Arte. Una Nueva Revolucion es Nescesaria." It was filmed throughout Mexico and shown at the Historic Academy Theater en Español with English subtitles. As always, general admission to the film festival is always free of charge, however this year in order to help our filmmakers, screenwriters and audience members coming from all over the world network, we are now offering SURGE HERO lodging packages for the Sixth Annual International SURGE Film Festival in February 2012. This hotel is offering accommodations that will allow the guest lodging during the SURGE Film Festival as well as direct access to the gala meet-ups with champagne and Included in the lodging packages are: *Three nights (Feb 20th, 21st and Feb22) at an Austin, Texas Hotel with a Four Star Rating. We have also arranged for a guaranteed late check out time so that you can participate in the Feb 23rd, 2012 morning and afternoon events! *Your choice of a room with a King Bed or Two Double Beds. Each room may have up to 4 people with a charge or $40 more and 1 roll away bed is optional. that some people or groups want the added protection of knowing that
if their plans change for any reason, they can receive a partial
refund. If you would like this added protection and an optional 'no
questions asked' 50% refund (if cancelled no later than Feb 1, 2012),
please add a 50% 'Travel Flexibility' surcharge to your total bill.
This means that if you must cancel, you will receive 50% of the total
bill including the surcharge, with no questions asked. This covers
you in the event of a Cancellation For Any Reason. Please note that
even with this protection, if you cancel after Feb 1st,
2012 there is no refund at all.

payments: If you would like the added convenience and option of paying
for your film festival pass in installments every two weeks please add
a 25% surcharge and you can pay only 25% of the total fee of your
film festival pass every two weeks. The Installment payment option
is not available when paying the late registration fee.

He also received a stipend, housing costs and round-trip airfare from his home in Des Moines, Iowa to the screening of his film!
